The Cosmorama Pictorial on Artist Ngan Siu-Mui
Compared with traditional painting techniques, those of Lingnan School are quite different in
establishing innovative concepts. All brush movement and coloring have distinctive qualities
and styles, so that one must thoroughly understand and practise for long time to master it.
Ngan's (Ngan Siu Mui) style of painting has changed since then, and she has acquired the
high level of the style of Lingnan School. The paintings techniques of flowers, birds, insects
and fish have been passed on to her from the teacher (Chao Shao An).
